Biter Biscuits, Bananas, and Baby Einstein
When we went to the grocery store, we ended up getting a good deal on the Publix diapers. I think it was because they’d forgotten to take down a sign for a special they had. There was a 2 for $10.00 sign on some of the size 1 diapers. (84 pack) the rest of them had $11.00 or so EACH on them. Well, they rung up at the $11 price and we got it changed. Then, for some reason, they only charged us $5 for both. Something about the Publix Promises thing? I don’t know, but 168 diapers for $5!!! Woo Hoo! That’s not even 3 cents each!! Of course, we won’t get that deal ever again.

We also got some new things for Emily. We got Biter Biscuits and Bananas. She LOVES the Biter Biscuits, but boy are they messy! We also bought some bananas. I’m going to prepare and freeze some for her tonight. This will be my first experience with “cooking” her food. Of course, you don’t actually cook the bananas, so it’s a good one for me to start with. If it goes well, I’ll probably try sweet potatoes and/or apples.

Yesterday Chris went to some kind of Gaming Day thing at a game store near us. My parents came and visited with Emily for a while. She took a nap around 2 and they left at around 3. She didn’t wake up until around 4:30 or so. I decided I’d try the Baby Einstein DVD with her since we hadn’t tried it in a while. She watched it for about 45 minutes! OMG! I wanted to see how long she’d watch. Probably I won’t let her watch for that long in the future, but it’s good to know. She sat on the floor in her Boppy. (The ONLY thing that Boppy’s good for!) She started out sitting up but would gradually slink down until she was reclining w/ her head on the Boppy. It was so cute! She had her little frog with her too. What a cutie!

She was such a good girl yesterday too. Chris left around 9:30 and she ate and went down for a nap around 10am. She slept until 12:30 or so. My parents showed up around 11:30. She only cried for a little bit when my mom was holding her. Then she “loosened up” and played with them for a while. My mom fed her sweet potatoes, but she didn’t seem too interested. She ate again around 2 and went for another nap. She slept until 4:30 or so and woke up and played again. Chris came home around 7 and took over. She had a little trouble getting to sleep, but ended up asleep around 8:30.

I came to pick up Emily at daycare on Thursday and they’d put her hair up with a little band so it stuck straight up. Ug. I think this just looks SILLY. However, Chris likes it and wants to do it more often. However, since he’s not used to “doing” hair, he can’t figure out how to do it and make it look decent, so it doesn’t get done much. :D Anyway, I put her hair up on Friday because: 1-Chris wanted to so bad and 2-Friday was “wear something with your favorite sports team name on it” day, so Emily wore an “I’m a little Yellow Jacket” teeshirt and some blue jean shorts. Well, nothing girly about that, so I put her hair up with a ribbon. :)

Thanks!

Ooh, good luck with the solids! Emily HATES the green beans, but she can scarf down some sweet potatoes and squash!
